This picture took several days to plan and execute as it is an amalgamation of several different studies into a typical beach scene of barwits ( as they are affectionately known). This could be the beach at Titchwell, where having checked out the new binoculars at In Focus you are scanning the beach for small waders or long tailed ducks at sea. This picture was bought by a local birder with a particular interest in waders. We debated long and hard about the colour of the mount - cool colours to reflect the wintry Norfolk coastline when many of us see these beautiful birds or pinky grey which reflects the richness of the breeding plumage. I'm afraid to say I got my way and we opted for the cooler colours.
