This painting was completed late in 2008 when a field of rose bay willow herb had been allowed to go to seed. It had been a cold and misty Winter's morning and the late morning sun had only just started to peek through the mist. It is actually about 11.00am. I wanted to capture the depth of colours in the willow herb. I watched a barn owl hawking through this field later on in the Winter and imagine there must be a healthy population of voles and mice!
